Fall to Blame – A Poem

IMG_1102.jpg

Dust the air with words of hope,
Irate action, love we cloak.

Thoughts of future, minds divine;
Let us anger, stoke, and brine.

Hate the hateful, now Us: their swine.
Ideals of love, share bitter wine.

Flood the air with fears, our hope.
Groundless action: at filth we grope.

A Field Long Outdated – A Poem

Years go by, leaving us with nothing,IMG_1401
Heroic blackness,
Cowardly Veils.

He smugly sat speaking:
Tales of war by veterans of sedation,
Fables of triumph by victors of none.

But there were no larks,
No singing,
No bravery.

Where was he when the war had come,
Where were you when he fled to home.

And left in lore and legacy:

You are forced upon his quarrels.
You inherit his foe.

We lived,
We felt dawn,
But there was no sunset to glow.

Words To End – A Poem

Masterpiece made modern man,IMG_2325
Fill the heart with nothing old.

Sweeter spur summoned soul,
Watch the midnight stars unfold.

Battle ballad bold, battered;
All that is shall go untold.

To Imagine – A Poem

We sat on the edge of nothing,IMG_1669
falling like stars,
destined to disappear.

Like strangers in the small hours,
watching the clock as time cowers,
threatened by what had yet to come.

So we stopped.
On the edge of nothing,
We simply created.

Amends of Men – A Poem

IMG_2563A face we wore to help forget,
the sins we hold,
we too regret.

To hide our hands,
full heavy gold.

To mountains clamber,
too, friends we’ve sold.

A mask we filled with false amend,
for sins untold,
the sins of men.

The Priest – A Poem

IMG_2053A language lost,
our souls do keep.
The guiding hand
of man too bleak.

One does ponder,
a thought divine.
To write them down
and calm our mind.

A common script,
to not forget.
A fact of fiction
our lives to bet.

The Clergy – A Poem

IMG_2450A common goal, to find a soul.
To wander not,
yet wander whole.

A group does gather,
to not forget;

such common goals,
we will regret.

The City – A Poem

Beauty built on fear of death,IMG_2084
Our hearts beat time to feel distress.

Chiselled names in marble tolled,
Build a god to not grow old.

Stand in columns, sweat we’re sold,
Carved to ward an end untold.

Beauty built in ploy of death,
Whom needs no stone to steal our breath.

Life and Its Tragedy – A Poem

IMG_1936You are the hero,

A heart born to live,
A mind willing to thrive,
A body bound to die.

History does not remember lives that are willing.

You are the lover,

A soul searching to love,
A body left to lust,
A story ending in nothing.

Ballads are not sung to hearts that grow cold.

You are but man,

An infant coming to youth,
A youth desiring to age,
A sorrow to grow old.

Beauty has no place for those who are told.

You are no god,

A sight for the unseen,
An awe for the unknown,
A reach to not hold.

Religion does not embody those who are broken.

Socially Just – A Poem

Fear the future the white-coats have said.
For the future is near,
And our future is dead.IMG_00000392

Trust in science the suits beseech.
Yet science is flawed,
Its outcome is bleak.

We will prevail the people do cry,
Prevail over what?
For our dawn is but nigh.
